The app continues to improve with regular releases that enhance both functionality and the range of linked content. The Church’s Gospel Library app continues to be the go-to resource for millions of Latter-day Saints to study their scriptures and Come Follow Me. The Gospel Learning app includes a brilliant lesson creator for teachers who can write a code on the board which allows all students in a class to download today’s lesson on their personal device. Many longer videos have been cut up into small segments by themes. Rather than organize content sequentially by chapter and verse, it lets a user choose from thousands of gospel topics and then shows curated videos that discuss that topic. The Gospel Learning app just appeared in July 2022. The Come Follow Me app is currently debuting in Spanish. The Come Follow Me app then links to a variety of expanded Come Follow Me content from excellent presenters around the Church. It assumes that most people don’t make time for daily scripture study, so it brings the scriptures to them in a delightful five-minute daily devotional that includes one verse from the assigned Come Follow Me reading for that week. The Come Follow Me app which appeared in July 2021 takes a very different approach. With ScripturePlus, students literally feast upon the words of Christ, taking a deep dive through the best of Latter-day Saint and other scriptural scholarship. ScripturePlus lets users read all 41,995 verses in the standard works in an enriched environment that includes images, videos, commentaries, charts, quotations, and other study aids that help bring the scriptures to life. ScripturePlus debuted in September 2019 to an enthusiastic audience that now numbers in the hundreds of thousands. We posed the question “If you wanted to share the wonder of the Book of Mormon with billions of God’s children worldwide, what would you do?” The unanimous response from these social media experts was “Build an app.” Now, a little over four years later, we have five remarkable apps that are all helping share the Book of Mormon with the world in unique ways. When you’re finished click “Save.In March 2018, Book of Mormon Central spent a day at Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California learning from Latter-day Saint Googlers. The drop down menu labeled “Add to” lets you pick a journal to associate this highlight to. ![]() The second grey box allows you to add a tag. The top grey box allows you to add a note to the highlight. The trashcan or “x” in the upper right will delete your highlight. ![]() If you click on “Add Note/Tag” the black bubble will expand to include more options. When you release your click, the highlighting options will appear in a black bubble near your highlighted selection. Using your mouse, click and drag a highlight over the words you want to annotate. Once you’ve logged in, the options on the black bar will become more robust. (This is the same username and password you would use to access FamilySearch.) Wherever you are studying you should see a black bar on the bottom of the screen, like the one in the picture below:Ĭlick the underlined “Sign in” and use your LDS account username and password to log in. Let’s say you are reading a general conference talk and find a quote you want to highlight for later. You can also write notes about your selection, or tag your highlighted text.įrom LDS.org, highlighting is also pretty easy. That will allow you to add your highlight to a specific notebook. For instance, when you’ve selected a text to be highlighted, you may tap the option “Add to” in the floating toolbox that appears with the highlighting cursors. Note: Highlighting in Gospel Library leads to several other useful options. When you’re done highlighting, leave highlight mode by clicking anywhere else on the screen. This way you are able to employ a variety of highlighting systems, and layer different types of highlights on top of each other. If you tap the Style icon, you will be able to choose the color of your highlight, or choose to underline instead, or change the type to a different color. A default highlight will appear and the icon will change to say “style”. ![]() With your finger drag one cursor to the beginning of the text you want to highlight, and drag the other to the end. You might also notice that a box of new options appears near the cursors. After a moment you will see two yellow cursors appear with a highlighted section between them. Gently set your finger on a part of the text you want to highlight and hold it there. From the Gospel Library app, highlighting is very easy.
